I can happily announce that I will be doing a Master´s programme in documentary film production at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts starting this autumn. Its a two year programme aimed at working professionals in the field. My specialization will be in documentary cinematography.
This year we (Im DP:ing and very talented Jeroen Pool directing) began shooting a doc about Murat, a kurdish boxer living in Sweden. Besides Murat and his exceptional skill and commitment towards life itself, the style and feeling of this piece is really intriguing in my opinion. I can’t show much now, but the way we mix wide and close-ups like the frame above really lends itself to Murat as a person.
So far its been a very exciting project to shoot and if you’re interested we’ll have a pilot available soon.
In september I directed and shot a short commercial for an upcoming rock climbing app called Topout.
This film was shot and edited with two different aspect ratios in mind. One for regular 16:9 tv and computer screens and one for the “standing up” smartphone screen. While the app (with the “standing” version of the film) isn’t released yet, you can find the regular version on: www.topout.se
In 2015 I have been working on a documentary project of my own.
Its a film about the activity and social drama of the public spaces we traverse in our daily life.
The images are locked, static shots,
with human activity giving drama and motion to the scenes.
The film is supposed to be released on various platforms by early 2017.
